As of lately, I have been very interested in hair accessories and all these fun bags that are taking over Instagram! From runway to street, accessories have been a must have piece to enhance any outfit. I rounded up some trends that I have noticed stand out this Spring and going into Summer season. Here is a mood board of some of my favorite details, along with a style board of items.
Pearls, tortoiseshell, vintage inspired, shells, and straw accessories are trending for the season. Some key accessories that have been making a comeback are large hair pins/clips, headbands, and natural textures. Many accessories that are here in Spring and staying into Summer have large inspirations from the mid 1970s to late. Personally my favorite era of style. The background of this mood board is a 1973 Vogue spread of “SUN-day Looks.”

Natural Straw derby hats with silk flowers, were seen in magazines during the 70’s. Pictured below, is this straw embroidered hat, I saw this as a modern take to the 70’s derby straw hat.

Straw clutches are the perfect bag for the season to take into Summer. Round, tortoiseshell handles are added in for elegant texture to any basket weave or crochet clutch. Structured top handle bags are seen more than the typical cross body strap. Bags become more interesting in their shapes and fabrication. Transparent bags are also here to stay! Vintage looks are becoming stronger with mini bags and vanity case silhouettes.

For jewelry, I am seeing more vintage inspired items. My favorite pair of earrings I own currently are a fun black and white marble detail in a large drop earring. I am seeing these everywhere, rich colors and textures!
